Dr. Abdulla Al Jneibi is a highly experienced Pediatric Endocrinologist who graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1999 and further acquired his Pediatric Residency and Fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at the Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto from 2002 to 2008. Dr. Al Jneibi also comes equipped with Executive Masters in Healthcare Administration from Zayed University and Masters of Public Health from the University of UAE. He is certified as Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Al Jneibi has worked as a full time Consultant Pediatric Endocrinology for 10 years at Zayed Military Hospital and for 2 years part time at Al Mushrif Children’s Specialty Center. He has also chaired some very prominent committees including Childhood Diabetes Taskforce at the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi and Childhood Obesity Prevention Committee at the Abu Dhabi Education Council. He was recently Head of the Medical Team at the Emirati-Jordanian Syrian Refugee camp and Emirates Red Crescent.

Dr. Al Jneibi has been the receiver of numerous awards in his career including the esteemed Al Nukhba award by Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau, Federal National Council Memorial Shield, UAE Armed Force Medal of Excellence, Academic Excellence Award by H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Certificate of Appreciation for the Childhood Obesity Prevention Project.
Dr. Al Jneibi holds memberships to several prestigious societies some of them being Emirates Medical Association, American Diabetes Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, International Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes and the Arab Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. He regularly attends national and international conferences to keep himself abreast with the latest developments in the field of Pediatric Endocrinology.

Dr. Al Jneibi is a keen researcher and has multiple research papers to his credit. He has been instrumental in facilitating prevention programs for obesity and diabetes in children. Dr. Asma Jassim Binjab is a Consultant Pediatric Endocrinologist she obtained her MBBS degree from Kuwait University, state of Kuwait. In year 2005, she joined the Pediatric residency program at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and obtained the American and the Canadian board of pediatrics. She continued her fellowship training in pediatric Endocrinology at the Montreal Children Hospital, McGill University, obtained Canadian board of Endocrinology and metabolisms in 2012.


In October 2013, she established the Pediatric Diabetes Unit in Dubai Diabetes Centre (DDC).

Dr. Asma is a board member of Emirates Diabetes society; she is currently working as consultant pediatric Endocrinologist and Diabetologist at Dubai Hospital, Dubai health Authority.

Dr. Asma is manages all types of Endocrine disorders in children and adolescents. In addition, she has a wide experienced in managing patients with Diabetes using advance technology (insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring sensor, etc.)


For community work, she is the Organizer of the mini medical school courses in Dubai, this are 5 phases health education courses dedicated to the community organized under the umbrella of Emirates medical association. She also presented and organized number of educational/ awareness campaign about diabetes, reducing obesity and promoting healthy life for children.


Dr. Asma was the president of the Blue team which was assigned by Dubai Executive council the mission of the team was to promote healthy weight and reduce obesity in children. The Team Won a special Award from Sheikh Hamadan bin Mohammed smart Government.

Dr. Deepti Chaturvedi has been passionately involved in training, practice and research in Pediatric and adolescent Endocrinology since last 12 years. Post MD Pediatrics, she did her two year research fellowship in Pediatric -Endocrinology and Diabetes from AIIMS, a world renowned tertiary care hospital in India followed by a clinical fellowship by ESPE(EUROPEAN SOCIETY OF Pediatric Endocrinology)from France and a PG Diploma in Diabetes from University of Leceister,UK. Last 10 years of her clinical practice in UAE has predominantly centered on Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology and Diabetes. Dr. Elham Al Amiri

Dr. Elham Al Amiri is a Pediatric consultant and chief of diabetes and endocrine unit at Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah. Dr. Al Amiri is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in College of Medicine, University of Sharjah. She has obtained her medical degree from King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia, followed by Masters of Science degree in Pediatrics from Trinity College, Dublin and Membership of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child health (MRCPCH) from UK. She was granted European Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) clinical fellowship program in Manchester UK.

She has established the pediatric endocrine and diabetes unit, serving as a referral centre in the Ministry of Health.

In 2009 Dr Al Amiri founded “Friends for Diabetes” a volunteer support society. She is also among the founders and board members of the Arab Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes ASPED, established in 2013.

Dr. Al Amiri is a member of the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescents Diabetes ISPAD, and UAE Endocrine club.

Prof. Gary Butler

Professor Gary Butler is Consultant in Paediatric & Adolescent Endocrinology at University College Hospital in London and holds a Personal Clinical Chair in Paediatrics at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health.

He qualified at St Thomas’s Hospital Medical School in London, and trained in paediatric endocrinology in Edinburgh at the Medical Research Council Human Genetics Unit and the MRC Reproductive Biology Unit, and also at the Edinburgh Royal Hospital for Sick Children. His principal research interests were the evaluation of growth and puberty in boys with extra X and Y chromosomes (doctoral MD thesis), the process of normal growth and treatment with growth hormone and testosterone, and the neuroendocrine control of puberty.

At UCLH he has established an adolescent endocrine service with special focus on disorders of puberty with specialist clinics for gonadotropin deficiency, Klinefelter syndrome, and growth disorders. He is also the clinical lead for the UK adolescent gender identity development service taking an international lead in the standards of care for transgender children and adolescents chairing the ESPE Working Group. He led the recent redesign of the new UK growth charts, incorporating concurrent puberty assessments. He is acknowledged as an international expert in these areas.


He has been general secretary of BSPED, member of Council and Chair of the Clinical Practice Committee of ESPE, and now is a member of the ESPE Summer School Faculty.

Dr. Hanaa Zidan

Her research interests are vitamin D and obesity and preatherosclerosis in children with type 1 diabetes.

Dr. Ehtisham has been a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai since May 2016. Prior to joining Mediclinic City Hospital, she was a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist and Clinical Lead for diabetes at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, UK and she was also an honorary senior lecturer in Endocrinology at the University of Manchester. She has also worked as a Paediatric Endocrinologist in Melbourne, Australia.


Dr. Ehtisham received her PhD in Childhood Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes in 2006 and her CCST in Paediatric Endocrinology in 2007.


She is an active member of the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) and is Editor of the ESPE newsletter. She is also a member of the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) as well as the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) and the Arab Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (ASPED). Dr Ehtisham is on the Middle East Eating Disorder Association (MEEDA) Board of Advisors. She was a member of the UK Royal College of Physicians Working Party on Obesity which published its report in 2013, and is part of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Obesity which meets regularly at the House of Commons in the UK.

Professor Zulf Mughal graduated in medicine from the University of Liverpool, UK, in 1978. He received postgraduate training in Paediatrics at hospitals in Manchester, Liverpool, in the UK and in Cincinnati, USA. He was appointed a Consultant Pediatrician in1988. He is currently employed as a Consultant in Paediatric Bone Diseases at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. In 2013, he was appointed Honorary Clinical Professor in Child Health at the University of Manchester. He has extensive experience in management of childhood bone & mineral disorders. Professor Mughal has published >150 peer reviewed scientific papers, invited reviews and book chapters. In June 2015, he was awarded the prestigious Charles Slemenda Award for his outstanding contribution to Paediatric Bone Research.
